The Coronation - Great Shelford

I wanted to document the village’s preparations for King Charles’ coronation for the local magazine, the Great Shelford Village News, so I took several walks around the streets before and during the bank holiday weekend.

I wasn’t surprised to find the pickings a little meagre - I’ve long described our local community as ‘The People’s Republic of Great Shelford’ - but persistence revealed enough to offer the magazine editors a reasonable selection, and I arranged with the nice staff at the Cara coffee shop to photograph them putting up their bunting. I also found some slightly less positive and celebratory images, plus much more of a monarchist show in Little Shelford, and I’ll combine these to make a separate post.
