Ostuni, Puglia, September 2022

I’m catching up on some image processing, so this is the first set from a week spent in the lovely Italian hilltown of Ostuni (known as the White City of Puglia for reasons which will become obvious).

The Old City of Ostuni.

We were lucky with the weather, and I was able to combine street and travel photography around the town, often in lovely evening light as the locals took the air and walked their dogs in a national pastime, “passeggiata serale”, best translated as “the evening amble, with plenty of opportunities for a natter with my neighbours”.

There will be plenty of other images appearing later taken around this time from other nearby villages and towns, but here are a few from Ostuni…

There were some interesting and quirky opportunities around the main square at the edge of the Old Town…

Important to choose correctly depending whether the squirter sought spiritual or manual cleanliness…

I’ve been everywhere man.

Other images shot around Ostuni…
