Soho

I spent a couple of days in London last week to see my younger daughter, and did some street photography in Soho, Mayfair/Bond Street and Spitalfields.

Happy Hour Pastels

This first set includes the images shot in and around Soho - a district with some lovely old buildings and colourful characters aplenty. The light was mostly rather flat and low-contrast on both days I was there, but that simplifies certain types of street image where one uses a deep depth of field to emphasize layering with multiple subjects.

Good News.

There’s a high failure rate with this type of image, since it’s impossible to monitor every part continuously for clean composition, so one parks oneself in a good spot, sets the camera drive to low-speed continuous and hopes for something that works.
